Chapter 3

Hey folks !

Welcome back.

This week's entry isn't much cause we only had one class. I felt like 💩 cause I was like half an hour late to the class. It wasn't cause I woke up late or anything, it was just the traffic. For those who don't know, I drive back and forth between KL and  Bangi everyday. And just my luck on that day the traffic was bad before I was even half way through.

Well enough of that. Let's get learning
This week we touched on CMC and ESL. Now what on earth is CMC? CMC stands for Computer Mediated Communications. What that means is basically any communications through computer.
Eg; Facebook, Twitter etc

CMC has been used in education since the late 1980's and in 1990's CALL was introduced. (you can refer to my previous post to know more on CALL) A simple example would be "You've Got Mail". anyone seen that movie before? If you haven't then you've missed out in life

Emails,forum,blogs and such are categorized as asynchronous CMC which is basically no immediate respond. Unlike synchronous CMC which is instant and direct communication. Eg Whats App,chat rooms etc.

In late 2000's, CMC was implemented in long distance learning (and relationship in my opinion 😏) Its simply video conferences and E-learning.
